LONDON, April 3: South African Haroon Lorgat is ready to accept the position of CEO at the International Cricket Council if the world body offers it to him.
Lorgat confirmed that ICC's president-elect David Morgan had discussions with him about the high-profile job after fellow South African Imtiaz Patel withdrew his candidature.
"I can confirm I have spoken to David Morgan.
We talked about the job. I'm reasonably confident and will take up the position if it's offered to me," he was quoted as saying by the
BBC Sport.
The 47-year-old Lorgat is a former convenor of the South African selectors.
ICC CEO Malcolm Speed will step down in June after serving for seven years in office.
