DY Patil 'A', ONGC make it to DY Patil T20 quarterfinal

NERUL (NAVI MUMBAI): Hosts DY Patil Group are enjoying a good run in the in the All-India DY Patil T20 cricket tournament, with their 'A' team joining their 'B' side in the quarterfinals. On Wednesday, DY Patil Group 'A' scored a 44-run win over State Bank of Travancore to set up a quarterfinal clash with Air India.
Swapnil Asnodkar did the star turn for the hosts, smashing an unbeaten 84 (47b, 10x4, 4x6).His effort was supplemented by Farman Ahmed's 51 and Saurabh Tiwari's 36. In reply, SBT managed just 138 for 8, with Siddharth Chitns grabbing three for 16.
In another match, Munaf Patel captured three for 11, while Parveen Gupta and Punit Mehra took a couple of wickets apiece to help ONGC skittle out MRF for 137 in 19.2 overs. ONGC, who won with seven wickets to spare, will meet Reliance One in the quarterfinals. Taruwar Kohli hit an unbeaten 60 for ONGC, while Sandeep Sharma contributed 35.
