Consolation win for DY Patil side

MUMBAI: Good batting by youngsters Abhishek Raut and Saurabh Tiwari helped DY Patil Sports Association score 164 for nine to gain the upperhand in the last quarter-final of the Dr. DY Patil Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at the DY Patil Stadium, Nerul on Wednesday.
They then kept down Tata Sports Club to 134 for nine to make the semi-finals. The win was a consolation for DY Patil who had earlier in the day lost the Times Shield final to Air India.
Mithun Manhas kept his nerve in the sudden death bowl out to anchor ONGC's passage to the semis.

They take on holders Air India Delhi who beat Air India Mumbai by eight wickets with Rohit Prakash scintillating with 108 n.o.
The Delhi side will be strengthened by the inclusion of some players from the Air India side that won the Times Shield title on Wednesday. The other semi-final will be between Western Railway and the winners DY Patil SA.
Western were propelled by youngster Parag Madkaikar's magnificent 73 (41b, 9x4 3x6) to w 14-run win over SBT Travancore.
With ONGC and Reliance tied on 120 for 9 after their respective 20 overs, the bowl out had to be used to and after 2-2 the sudden death.
Swapnil Singh missed for Reliance but Mithun Manhas was spot on. Azharuddin Bilakhia smashed 51 from 29 balls with seven fours and two sixes for Reliance. Mithun Minhas scored 36 off as many balls for ONGC.
