Abdul Qadir's media talk upsets PCB
KARACHI: Pakistan cricket's chief selector Abdul Qadir has irked the PCB officials by going public with his idea of having separate Test and ODI teams with different captains at helm, sources said.
"Qadir has reiterated his demand even after Ejaz Butt said clearly he didn't agree with the concept and that is not a good sign at all for Pakistan cricket or the board," one source said.

Butt has already indicated to those working immediately under him that it was not a positive sign that every official in the Board was giving policy statements, the sources added.
Qadir also said that instead of handing a long term to the skipper, the leader of the team should be announced on series to series basis.
"I have full regard if the Chairman has said Malik will be retained as captain but I would suggest having the captain on a series to series basis," the former Test leg-spinner said.
The source also said that there was feeling among the officials of the Board that there was no need for the Chairman to tell the media about retaining Malik as captain when he knew it had to be announced after the governing council meeting.
"Even though Butt has supreme powers to appoint the captain, yet it would have been better and more sensible if he had waited until the governing council meeting to make his announcement about the captain," one source said.
