According to CBS News, the incident occurred roughly at 9:00 am locally, and the victim was a 37-year-old man who was believed to be a resident of that area. As per the statement released by the Department of Homeland Security, the man approached the agents with a 9mm handgun, shortly after which they opened fire at him.

On Saturday, ESPN’s Shams Charania announced that the league had postponed Saturday’s clash between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves, which was to be scheduled at 5:30 pm ET. “The Timberwolves-Warriors game in Minneapolis has been postponed by the NBA, sources tell ESPN, in wake of a man shot and killed Saturday in a confrontation with federal agents in the city”, Charania commented on X. “It's the second shooting there in a week, third this month, involving a federal officer”.

The game has been postponed to tomorrow, at 5:30 pm ET. “Timberwolves-Warriors has been rescheduled to Sunday at 5:30 pm ET in Minneapolis -- turning this into a back-to-back Sunday and Monday between the two teams”, Shams Charania further posted a tweet on X.
