A few days ago, the NBA legend Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry’s charity, Eat. Learn. Play foundation announced that it has made a whopping $1.7 million for the children of unprivileged families of Oakland through the star player’s gesture.


The foundation made a heartfelt post about it with a caption that read as, “$1.7 million for Oakland’s kids. This season, our co-founder Stephen Curry turned his sneaker free agency into something bigger than basketball — wearing a different pair in nearly every game, each choice intentional, each a nod to the history of the game.”

The caption added, “Stephen put more than 70 of these iconic sneakers up for auction at @Sotheby’s New York.”

The post continued, “400 bidders, nearly 30 countries, 2,350 bids, and every single dollar going directly to Eat. Learn. Play., resulting in more healthy meals, books, literacy support, safe places to play, and youth sports for tens of thousands of kids across Oakland.”

In a move that has shocked fans, the four time NBA champion Stephen Curry decided to auction the sneakers he wore in the last few months. The proceeds from the sale will go to his foundation which works for the betterment of children in Oakland.
