NBA star P.J. Washington gets $5,500 shocker in latest update of legal battle against ex Brittany Renner
NBA star P.J. Washington now owes $5,500 a month to his ex-partner, Brittany Renner. This latest update has turned in favor of Renner, who sought the consent order in Mecklenburg County, N.C., back in November 2024. If calculated annually, Washington will be required to $66,000 in child support.
Washington is also ordered to make a single payment of $130,000, which will cover Renner’s attorney's fee as well as any child support accrued before the passing of this order. Brittany and Washington have never been on friendly terms since their breakup. Last month, a video of a heated argument among Washington, Renner, and her mother surfaced, where Renner demanded he be ‘more available’ to the child as their son was fussing over going with him.
Washington and Renner have been undergoing a legal battle to settle the child support issue. Brittany previously shared that she got $2500 a month in the child support. The latest update mandates the NBA player to financially provide for the child in California, despite the place of filing being North Carolina.
Earlier, in September, the ex-flames were at the center of a drama when Brittany confronted him for being ‘hardly available’ to the child during one of his visits to the child. The heated argument took an uglier turn when Brittany’s mother jumped into the verbal war and was lashed out at by Washington.
One year after their meeting, they publicly confirmed being in a relationship in 2020, and a child followed soon after. They welcomed a son together in 2021.
Things fell apart for this NBA couple as quickly as they started. Brittany called it quits a few months after their son was born. In an old interview given to Revolt TV in 2023, she shared that she didn’t plan to be a single mother. However, much contrary to their present state of affairs, Renner was appreciative of Washington at that time. She then said to Revolt TV:
“If we have a schedule where it’s alternating — I get Monday and Tuesday. He gets Wednesday [and] Thursday…we alternate Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Am I a single mom then, still? Or it’s just because I’m single, I don’t have a partner? ‘Cause his father is very much present and takes care of him. I mean my son, I ain’t gonna lie … he’s in a multimillion-dollar house, he gets dropped off in a Lamborghini, he ain’t hurting for nothing.”
However, as per a recent video that circulated last month, Brittany had changed the tune. She called out Washington for 'not being present enough' in that video.
Washington moved on in his life after breaking up with Renner and got married to Alisah Chanel. Renner also got married to rapper Kevin Gates in April 2025, but her marriage lasted only 52 days.
On professional front, P.J. Washington signed a $90 million contract extension with the Dallas Mavericks via a four-year deal. Brittany, on the other hand, continues her public life as a social media influencer and internet personality. She often talks about co-parenting and past relationships on various platforms.
