NEW DELHI: NBA legend Charles Barkley has delivered some unfiltered advice and opinions, showcasing his signature wit and candor. During a recent appearance on 'The Steam Room' podcast, Barkley expressed concern over a specific Thanksgiving-related issue while also sharing his candid thoughts on Christmas traditions.
The former NBA MVP, known for his straightforward and often humorous commentary, raised a safety concern related to Thanksgiving preparations.
1x1 polls
Barkley, discussing the festive season with podcast co-host Ernie Johnson, revealed his worry about people accidentally setting their houses on fire while cooking turkeys. Referring to a public service announcement (PSA) he recently watched, Barkley emphasized that around 10 people each year experience house fires during Thanksgiving due to cooking accidents.

In his characteristic blunt style, Barkley addressed those at risk, saying, "Listen damn fools – I’m sorry that’s not polite – damn idiots, thaw out your turkey." The basketball icon's safety advice was delivered with a mix of concern and his trademark humor.
However, Barkley's festive critique didn't stop at Thanksgiving. The outspoken sports analyst also shared his thoughts on Christmas traditions, expressing dissatisfaction with the gift-giving aspect of the holiday. Barkley humorously suggested that if he were to become the President of the United States, he would implement a rule: "Once you get past 18, you don’t get gifts, alright, that’s the magic cut-off number, okay."

Further, Barkley didn't hold back when discussing his overall feelings about Christmas, stating, "Christmas sucks, it’s the worst." His candid remarks on the holiday, which is traditionally associated with joy, gift exchanges, and festivities, may surprise some, but it aligns with Barkley's reputation for plain-speaking.
For Barkley, the essence of festivals appears to revolve around good food and spending time with loved ones. However, when it comes to gifts, he has a different perspective. As the holiday season approaches, fans can expect more unfiltered takes from Charles Barkley, adding his unique flair to the festivities.
