Referring to a public service announcement (PSA) he recently watched, Barkley emphasized that around 10 people each year experience house fires during Thanksgiving due to cooking accidents.

In his characteristic blunt style, Barkley addressed those at risk, saying, "Listen damn fools – I’m sorry that’s not polite – damn idiots, thaw out your turkey." The basketball icon's safety advice was delivered with a mix of concern and his trademark humor.
