As Rudy Gobert made his wave on the court during the Minnesota Timberwolves' playoff run, his personal life has taken a dramatic and highly public turn. The 7-foot-1 center is at the center of controversy following reports that he has ended his relationship with longtime partner, Julia Bonilla, who is currently pregnant with their second child, and allegedly asked her and their one-year-old son, Romeo, to leave his home.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert reportedly kicked his pregnant partner, Julia Bonilla, out with her 1-year-old son

The news, first reported by TMZ Sports, has stunned many fans and insiders, especially as Julia Bonilla and Romeo were seen supporting Rudy Gobert at the Timberwolves' final regular-season game on April 13. Gobert even embraced them warmly after the game, giving no signs of personal turmoil. However, things reportedly shifted soon after Bonilla informed him of her second pregnancy.
In an emotional statement shared on Instagram, Bonilla opened up about the breakup, describing it as “one of the most painful times in my life.”“I considered Rudy the love of my life,” she wrote. “I left everything for him. I gave him a child and poured my heart into our relationship.”Bonilla expressed her heartbreak over the abrupt split while asserting her loyalty throughout their relationship.“When everyone criticized him and insulted him, I stood by him, always putting him first and choosing him, always,” she added. “Despite how I have been treated, I choose to protect his name for the sake of my children.”
Bonilla further stated, “I have NEVER EVER been unfaithful to the father of my children.”According to TMZ Sports, the decision to separate came shortly after the pregnancy news. Gobert allegedly requested that Bonilla and their toddler son move out. Sources close to other Timberwolves players’ partners revealed the outlet that the move caught many by surprise. Bonilla, originally from France like Gobert, reportedly wanted to return to her home country, but Gobert’s team has pressured her to stay in the U.S. for future custody arrangements.Gobert, who just last March called fatherhood a "blessing" in an interview with TMZ, is now said to have lawyered up. His representatives are reportedly working to ensure Bonilla and Romeo remain in Minnesota until the custody situation is settled after the playoffs. His agent, Bouna Ndiaye, however, refused any comment when TMZ approached. The couple had made their relationship public only earlier this year when Gobert proudly announced Bonilla’s pregnancy. Back then, she publicly defended him from critics, particularly after he was controversially labeled the most overrated player in the league. Also Read: Carmelo Anthony recalls powerful ancestral roots after watching Ryan Coogler’s latest masterpiece Sinners: “It is horror at the end of the day”“My partner is the most dedicated, focused, hard-working person I have ever met,” Bonilla wrote in February. “He hasn’t stolen anything from anyone and deserves all the respect for his determination and commitment to his career.”Further update of the story awaits as Gobert is yet to respond to the claims.
