NEW DELHI: De'Aaron Fox delivered a stellar performance, scoring 31 points, including seven 3-pointers in the second half, to propel the Sacramento Kings to a remarkable comeback against the Atlanta Hawks. Domantas Sabonis contributed 25 points, and the Kings overcame a 23-point deficit to secure a 117-110 victory on Friday.
The Kings seized their first lead at 106-105 with 5:48 remaining in the game, courtesy of a 3-pointer by Fox. Following a tie at 110-110, crucial plays by Chris Duarte, Sabonis, and Keegan Murray, including a 3-pointer, free throw, and a jumper, respectively, enabled Sacramento to establish a six-point lead with 49 seconds left. Atlanta failed to score in the final 4 1/2 minutes, securing the Kings' comeback victory.
Fox displayed outstanding shooting, going 10-for-20 from the field and 8-for-16 on 3-point attempts. In addition to his scoring, Fox contributed six rebounds, eight assists, and four steals. Sabonis was highly efficient, finishing 12-for-17 from the field and contributing 10 rebounds and seven assists. Trey Lyles added 19 points, and Malik Monk contributed 15, helping the Kings end their four-game losing streak to Atlanta.
Trae Young led the Hawks with 24 points and nine assists, while Dejounte Murray added 18 points. Despite a double-double from Jalen Johnson (16 points, 15 rebounds) and Saddiq Bey's 15 points, the Hawks suffered their fourth consecutive loss.
The Kings' victory marked a significant turnaround, considering they had dropped three of their previous four games. The teams are set to meet again on January 22 in Sacramento.
