Anthony Edwards makes shocking confession about Minnesota Timberwolves' defense

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards acknowledges the team... Read More
It goes without saying that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is one of the most exciting stars in the league at the moment. The Wolves’ superstar is always high on confidence and isn’t afraid of going toe-to-toe with legends of the game like LeBron James and Stephen Curry. Now, while Anthony Edwards never misses a chance to hype himself up, he also never misses the opportunity to criticize himself when things go wrong.

Following the Wolves’ latest game against the Phoenix Suns, Ant-Man made some interesting comments that head coach Chris Finch might want to take a closer look at:

“We are a defensive team, man. So, if we just focus in on defense it won’t be hard at all to find. We did that here and there today, but like if we do that throughout the game when we don’t got the juice on offense like just defense defense defense.”

Anthony Edwards admits the need to communicate more in Minnesota Timberwolves' defense

Edwards closed his statement by taking the blame for the Wolves’ lackluster defensive effort against the Suns. Ant-Man believes that he has trouble communicating with his team on the defensive end of the floor, this is definitely something that Chris Finch would want to look into. While there is no denying that Edwards is a monster on both ends of the floor, clarity in communication could go a long way to improving his chemistry with the team.

It is also worth noting that Anthony’s willingness to criticize himself is the quality of a true leader and him doing so despite getting the win against Phoenix is really just the cherry on top. So, as long as he and the team are operating on the same wavelength, they should be able to avoid lazy performances like their game against the Suns.

The Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Toronto Raptors this Thursday and are currently occupying the 7th spot in the Western Conference. A win on Thursday can help the team climb all the way up to 5th. If Ant can figure out a way to communicate better on defense, there's nothing stopping the team from improving their record.
