The Minnesota Timberwolves entered Monday night facing sudden uncertainty around their leading scorer. Anthony Edwards, expected to play after completing his pregame routine, was ruled out moments before tipoff. The Wolves had to undergo a sudden roster change at Target Center. The late change arrived as Minnesota prepared for the second night of a back-to-back.Across the floor, the Golden State Warriors arrived shorthanded as well. Stephen Curry, who carried the offense a night earlier, was unavailable due to knee soreness.

Anthony Edwards' injury update changes Timberwolves plans

Anthony Edwards was scratched shortly before the game, despite going through warmups. ESPN reporter Anthony Slater confirmed the decision, writing, “Anthony Edwards is out tonight for the Timberwolves. Late scratch.”
Edwards was ruled out with a foot issue after appearing on the injury report late in the day. His absence removed Minnesota’s primary scoring threat and playmaking option. Edwards had led the Timberwolves in their previous outing and was coming off a heavy workload during the back-to-back set. With Edwards sidelined, Minnesota turned to alternative ball handlers and scorers. Mike Conley and Bones Hyland became candidates for increased minutes as the coaching staff reshaped its rotation on short notice.
Edwards’ next chance to return is expected on Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks, which opens another back-to-back stretch on the schedule. The Wolves will monitor Ant-Man as they need him in the roster as soon as possible.

Stephen Curry injury update leaves the Warriors short-handed

Golden State also entered the game without its franchise centerpiece. Stephen Curry was ruled out with right patellofemoral inflammation after experiencing knee soreness during workouts in Minneapolis. The Warriors listed Curry as questionable before officially ruling him out, along with Draymond Green, who is dealing with lower back soreness.Curry addressed the issue following Sunday’s win, explaining the discomfort in his own words. “Something flared up [Saturday] when we came over to get a workout in,” Curry said. “It was super weird. Like, I've had stuff going on -- quads and whatnot -- but it was something that I hadn't felt before, so I definitely took advantage of the day off to get right, but hopefully that continues.”Golden State’s injury list extended beyond Curry and Green. Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, Al Horford, and De’Anthony Melton were also unavailable, leaving the Warriors without much of their usual rotation. Despite the absences, Golden State entered the game seeking a second straight road win after a dominant performance the night before.
