NEW DELHI: The Milwaukee Bucks have made the decision to part ways with head coach Adrian Griffin, as reported by ESPN and The Athletic on Tuesday.

The unexpected dismissal comes at a time when the team holds the second spot in the Eastern Conference standings, boasting a solid 30-13 record, the second-best winning percentage in the league.

Griffin, who took over the coaching role just seven months ago in June, succeeded Mike Budenholzer but now finds himself replaced after an unanticipated end to his relatively short tenure.

The sudden firing of Griffin has raised eyebrows, especially given the Bucks' commendable start to the season and their strong position in the Eastern Conference. With the team's success on the court, there were few indicators that Griffin's position was in jeopardy.

The decision to part ways with the head coach comes on the heels of Milwaukee's 122-113 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday, marking Griffin's last game in charge. The team will now look to fill the coaching void, and reports suggest that former Philadelphia coach Doc Rivers is being considered as a potential replacement.

As the Bucks navigate this coaching transition, the interim coaching duties are set to be handled by assistant coach Joe Prunty. Prunty will take charge until a permanent successor is appointed to lead the team.

The unexpected nature of Griffin's departure and the team's swift move to identify potential replacements have added intrigue to the situation, leaving fans and the basketball community curious about the reasoning behind this surprising coaching change and the future direction of the Milwaukee Bucks.
