Yogeshwar Dutt ready to give up medal for his sport
NEW DELHI: Yogeshwar Dutt battled a career-threatening knee injury to achieve his goal of winning a medal at the Olympics. But disheartened at wrestling's axe from the 2020 Olympics, Yogeshwar is willing to return his medal in support for the sport he's been associated with since his childhood.
The 39-year-old grappler feels the Games will lose its significance without wrestling.

"Olympics will have no meaning to me if it doesn't have wrestling. If sacrificing our medals can get wrestling back in the programme, then take them away right now. I am willing to return my bronze medal," Yogeshwar said.
The wrestlers were speaking at the start of a campaign, 'Push for Wrestling', launched by a soft drink brand in the Capital.
FILA head meets Rogge
LAUSANNE: The acting head of wrestling's world body has met with IOC president Jacques Rogge and promised the sport will work hard to retain Olympic status. Nenad Lalovic, interim FILA president, says Rogge told him "everybody has to earn their place" among the eight sports seeking one vacancy on the program for the 2020 Games.
Lalovic told reporters after the 40-minute meeting that "I don't see any other way" but hard work to persuade the IOC to reverse last month's decision. (With agency inputs)
