BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister
Naveen Patnaik on Monday felicitated and gave away cash awards to six hockey players of
Odisha who were members of the medal winning national teams at the recently concluded
Asian Games 2018.
The players are four members of the national women's hockey team that won silver medal in the Asiad including
Sunita Lakra
,
Lilima Minz
, Deep Grace Ekka and Namita Tappo, who received cash award of Rs one crore each from the CM.
Similarly members of the national men's hockey team that won bronze medals in the Asiad including
Birendra Lakra
and Amit Rohidas received Rs 50 lakh each from the chief minister in a glittering festival.
Besides, Sunita Lakra and Amit Rohidas also received Rs two lakh cash award, memento for 'Player of the Year award for-2017' on the occasion. Chief minister also gave Rs 7.5 lakh each to athletes
Jauna Murmu
and
Purnima Hembram
for representing India in the Asiad.
