NEW DELHI: The New York Mets have reportedly reached an agreement with outfielder Harrison Bader on a one-year contract worth $10.5 million.

Bader, a native of Bronxville, N.Y., is set to return to his hometown after playing for the Yankees during parts of the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

The 29-year-old Gold Glove winner had a solid performance in the 2023 season, batting .232 with seven home runs, 40 RBIs, and a career-high 20 stolen bases in 98 games split between the Yankees and Cincinnati Reds. Known for his defensive prowess, Bader earned the National League Gold Glove in 2021.

Over his career, Bader holds a .243 batting average with 59 home runs, 217 RBIs, and 77 stolen bases in 635 games.

He spent the majority of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals from 2017 to 2022 before joining the Yankees and Reds.

The signing marks a homecoming for Bader, who will add depth and defensive skill to the Mets' outfield. The one-year deal provides both the player and the team with flexibility heading into the upcoming season.
