While there's a huge fanbase of
Juan Soto who finds him as an elite player, the New York Mets' star has his "best player" tag fixed on a San Diego Padres star. Recently, Soto crowned Fernando Tatis Jr. as "the best player in the game" and shared a detailed reason behind why he gave this tag to the Padres star.
Juan Soto elaborated on why Fernando Tatis Jr. is 'best player'
On Tuesday, Abriendo Sports released an interview with Juan Soto, during which the Mets' star crowned Fernando Tatis Jr. as the best player in the league. According to Soto, Tatis Jr. is an all-rounder player and someone who can "do it all in the field." Sharing details into his take, Soto said:
“Fernando Tatis Jr is the best player in the game for me, he can do it all in the field. You can see players that do everything at least average or better, but he does everything elite."Moving forward in his statement, Juan Soto highlighted the performance stats of Fernando Tatis Jr. that make him an extensive player. Concluding his statement, Soto said:
"He has won the platinum glove, can hit 40 home runs in San Diego, hits .300, runs, knows how to play the game and how to move on both sides of the ball and has a cannon of an arm. What else can you ask a player to do that he doesn’t do already?"Before sharing his praises for Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto made headlines for his recent revelation about his Mets' contract. During his Saturday appearance on Fox News, Soto claimed that he didn't receive the "most money" from the Mets, but there were
other teams who offered more. Talking about it in detail, Soto said:
"I'm still thinking about it and everything. It's unbelievable. I'm really happy for that. I'm really happy to know where I'm going to be for the next 15 years. The Mets didn’t offer the most money. Some teams offered more."Even though it has just been three months since his signing, Juan Soto is already well-settled in the team. Mets’ manager
Carlos Mendoza recently praised Soto for the same.
