Freddie Freeman and Chelsea Freeman relationship timeline: From college romance to MLB career

The year was 2011 when Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman crossed paths with Chelsea Marie Goff, now Freeman, when she was studying at the University of Central Florida. At the time, Freddie was already drafted by the Atlanta Braves and was playing in Major League Baseball. The couple, though in different stages of life, connected and endured a long-distance relationship for three years before getting married in 2014. College sweethearts and MLB achievements

Freddie and Chelsea met in 2011 and soon started dating after a strong connection. At the time, Freddie was playing for the Atlanta Braves and riding the high of the 2010 home run against the Philadelphia Phillies, while Chelsea was in school and managing her modeling career. The couple started dating and overcame the challenges of a long-distance relationship in their early 20s.
However, their courtship blossomed into love, and in January of 2014, Freddie proposed to his beloved almost three years after they met. Chelsea shared the engagement news on Instagram with a touching post on how Freddie changed her life. The couple got married a little less than a year later, on November 22, 2014, in Miami Beach, Florida. Ahead of their wedding, Chelsea also appeared in the reality show, “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta”, giving the fans a peek at her wedding dress.

In September 2016, the couple welcomed their first son, Frederick Charles II, “Charlie” Freeman. Having struggled with fertility, they grew their family through surrogacy and natural pregnancy and welcomed their sons, Brandon John in December 2020 and Maximus Turner in February 2021 - lovingly known as “twins with a twist.”

Chelsea has been with Freddie throughout his major league baseball career, including his legendary days with the Atlanta Braves, where he played for 12 glorious seasons, and the Braves winning the 2021 World Series, to the present time with the Los Angeles Dodgers. She has been with him during the World Series and All-Star seasons and has been cheering him on through the 162-game schedule.

Chelsea is also an entrepreneur who has developed her business off the baseball field. She established the Chelsea Freeman Collection, a boutique, selling game-day outfits representing her interest in fashion and baseball culture, which ties her personal brand to the sport that made the two fall in love.

In 2025, the Freemans marked a big relationship milestone on their 11th anniversary, celebrating their love and enduring relationship, built way before Freddie was a household name in baseball.
