The official, who had travelled to officiate a UEFA match, is facing serious allegations involving a teenage boy. The incident reportedly took place at a hotel where match officials were staying. Authorities acted quickly after receiving a complaint. The arrest has raised major concerns within football circles. UEFA official detained after serious misconduct claims surface

According to reports by The Sun, the referee allegedly approached a teenage boy in a public area of a hotel. He is accused of inappropriate behaviour and attempting to get the boy to come to his room. The matter was reported to the police soon after the incident. At that time, the referee had already left to officiate the scheduled match.
Police later arrested the official when he returned to the hotel after the game. The arrest reportedly took place in front of other officials, causing shock within the group. He was then taken in for questioning. After initial procedures, he was released on bail while investigations continue.A source explained that the referee had interacted with a young boy in a shared hotel space. The source said the official is accused of unwanted physical contact and trying to persuade the teenager to go to a private room. The source added that such behaviour, if proven, would be deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable.The same source mentioned that the complaint was made either by the boy or someone close to him. The report reached the authorities while the referee was still away at the match. Later that night, when he returned with other officials, police were already present. He was detained immediately and informed of the allegations before being taken for questioning.Officials have also indicated that extradition could be considered if formal charges are filed. Meanwhile, FIFA has taken a strong stance. The governing body has made it clear that the referee will not be involved in any of its tournaments during the investigation. UEFA has also stated that the official will not be assigned to matches for now.The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man in his 30s has been released on bail. The investigation into the alleged assault is still ongoing.
