He barely reacted to the camera, but that was enough to spark a storm online.

At first, fans felt relief. Seeing Nick Diaz in a gym brought hope. Many believed the UFC legend would finally be back in training. However, that feeling did not last long. The clip gave no details. It raised questions about when it was filmed and whether Diaz is actually training now. Soon, the excitement turned into confusion and concern.

One user wrote, “New training footage… from 3 years ago.” Others commented, “Throwback” and “This footage is old as hell.” Another added, “Shame it’s not recent.”

Then the tone changed again. Some fans reminded others that Nick Diaz has been missing for months. The confusion deepened because there are conflicting statements. Diaz’s coach, Cesar Gracie, has said Diaz is safe and in good hands. Jake Shields also spoke about Diaz’s location. On his Fight Back Podcast, he said, “Our boy Nick’s in Mexico right now.” That should have calmed fans, but it did not.

Last month, Diaz’s alleged girlfriend made a disturbing claim. She said Nick Diaz was being held against his will. She framed it as a legal and human rights issue.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, “Citizenship is the ultimate protection… he is a citizen who has been a victim of a crime committed partly on U.S. soil and is currently being held against his will in a foreign country for the last 12 months. If anyone has any resources to help Nick and I, please reach out”, she ended the post in a plea.

With Fury’s clip, Gracie’s reassurances, and Shields’ statement, the story remains unclear. Until real answers emerge, every new image of Nick Diaz will only deepen the mystery of his absence.
