The 34-year-old placed himself ahead of global icons like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. His statement came during a fun segment. Jimenez based his opinion on numbers. He pointed to his impressive conversion rate and said statistics support his confidence.

The Mexico international has been perfect from the penalty spot in the Premier League. He has scored all 13 of his attempts for Fulham. Across his full career, Jimenez has taken 46 penalties and missed only twice. That gives him a 96 percent success rate. Compared to other superstars, his record stands out. His comments have sparked debate among fans about who truly deserves the title of best penalty taker.

During the FOX Sports segment, Raul Jimenez took part in a challenge. He was asked to choose which player he believed was better at penalties. Each round introduced a new name. The list included greats like Andrea Pirlo and Zinedine Zidane. When his own name appeared, Jimenez did not hesitate.

He suggested that his name should probably have been saved for the final round because his answer would remain unchanged. Even when the reporter mentioned Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Harry Kane, Javier Hernandez, and Rogério Ceni, Jimenez stayed firm. He explained that whether people agree or not, his penalty conversion rate is higher. He admitted he is unsure if he can officially call himself the best in the world. However, he said penalty-taking is something that defines his career, so he would continue backing himself.

Statistically, his argument has support. Jimenez has scored 44 of his 46 penalties in all competitions. One miss came when Fernando Muslera saved his effort in a 2018 friendly between Mexico and Uruguay. The other was denied by Yassine Bounou during a Europa League match against Sevilla.
