The internet had a lot to say after a wedding clip of Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield started spreading online. In the video, Lyles sees his bride in her wedding dress for the first time, but his reaction did not match what many viewers expected. People quickly began calling it “underwhelming” and even questioned his feelings.

But the story did not stop there. Bromfield came forward and shared what was really happening behind that moment. She explained that the situation was much more emotional than it looked on screen. Her response has now shifted how many people are seeing the viral clip.

The video, posted by Stanlo Photography on April 14 on TikTok, shows a “first look” moment from their April 4 wedding in Trenton, Georgia. Lyles turns around after Bromfield taps him and says, “Oh wow, okay. I didn’t think you would go with a princess dress. I didn’t. Yeah, this is good. Dang, that’s a train and we’re supposed to spin in this?”

That short reaction led to heavy criticism online. Many users felt he did not compliment her enough. Comments like, “He didn’t even compliment her ONCE,” and “This wouldn’t even be an acceptable reaction from a friend,” started trending.

Bromfield, however, told a very different story on her own TikTok. She made it clear that the moment people judged was actually very personal. “So if it takes somebody saying you’re not beautiful to call off an engagement or a marriage, it wasn’t worth anything,” she said. “Because truth be told, that is something that I get told every day by Noah.”

She also revealed she was dealing with a lot emotionally that day. Several close family members, including her sisters and best friend, could not attend because of visa issues. Just minutes before the first look, she also found out that someone important to the ceremony did not show up.

“Went out there basically holding back tears,” she said. “And there was like 10 cameras around us… I was overstimulated.” In that moment, she said Lyles did exactly what she needed. “So in that moment, that reaction that I got from Noah is exactly what I needed because he tried to make me happy,” she explained.

She also added that Lyles was surprised because she had earlier told him she would wear a different dress. “He was very surprised that I was in a princess dress,” she said.

The couple, who started dating in 2022 and got engaged in 2024 after the 2024 Paris Olympics, now say they are focused on their life together, not online opinions.
