NFL Draft Rumors: Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens must avoid Clemson’s explosive defensive lineman

Ravens Wire’s Geoffrey A Knox reports that Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Peter Woods brings a strong blend of size, quickness, and athleticism. He can even line up in multiple spots.He is incredibly fast to disturb the offensive lineman’s rhythm. Despite having natural physical gifts, his production [sack numbers, tackles for loss] does not reflect that. But he has the physical tools like speed, strength, flexibility, and frame. If he can develop his pass-rush approach, he can become an elite, Pro Bowl-level player.However, despite being so good, Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine does not want Baltimore to draft Woods. If they pick an interior defender this early in the draft, they will need someone with more length and versatility. Woods has 5th percentile arm length, 12th percentile wingspan, 6th percentile hand size for an interior defensive lineman. He could struggle to two-gap in the league."Jokingly it's easy to say, 'His arms are short,' but what's on tape is on tape," Woods said via TribLIVE. "I think one of the best things that I can do is getting control of a man who assumingly has longer arms than me and striking him and discarding him. His arm length could be a concern for teams, but his versatility could allow teams to scheme him opportunities to disrupt and stand out. Giants could be a fit depending on the scheme.He is projected to be an early second-round pick. His best traits were listed as explosiveness, power, leverage, versatility, and disruptiveness. His weaknesses are block shedding, long speed, and consistency.ESPN's Nate Taylor predicts Peter Woods for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs need depth behind veteran Chris Jones and rookie Omarr Norman-Lott. Woods could be an interesting prospect.
