Ravens Wire’s Geoffrey A Knox reports that Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Peter Woods brings a strong blend of size, quickness, and athleticism. He can even line up in multiple spots. He is incredibly fast to disturb the offensive lineman’s rhythm. Despite having natural physical gifts, his production [sack numbers, tackles for loss] does not reflect that. But he has the physical tools like speed, strength, flexibility, and frame. If he can develop his pass-rush approach, he can become an elite, Pro Bowl-level player. However, despite being so good, Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine does not want Baltimore to draft Woods. Let’s find out why. And if not the Ravens, then who would suit him second-best?

Tigers DL Peter Woods picked as one player Ravens must not draft

Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame recently listed the biggest draft mistakes from the last season. Five of them are: Cincinnati Bengals DE Shemar Stewart, Miami Dolphins G Jonah Savaiinaea, Buffalo Bills DE Landon Jackson, Atlanta Falcons DE James Pearce Jr., and Green Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden. These players had an underwhelming rookie season. Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine does not want the Ravens to draft a player who may have an underwhelming season. And so, Ballentine wants them to avoid selecting Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Peter Woods. Reasons?1. New head coach Jesse Minter’s scheme may require Nnamdi Madubuike to take up the job of 3-technique in a four-man front.
And Woods’ ideal fit is a gap-shooting 3-technique, someone who wreaks havoc. The defensive line may have a scheme mismatch.2. The Ravens hold a 14th overall pick in the first round of the draft. If they pick an interior defender this early in the draft, they will need someone with more length and versatility. Woods has 5th percentile arm length, 12th percentile wingspan, 6th percentile hand size for an interior defensive lineman. He could struggle to two-gap in the league."Jokingly it's easy to say, 'His arms are short,' but what's on tape is on tape," Woods said via TribLIVE. "I think one of the best things that I can do is getting control of a man who assumingly has longer arms than me and striking him and discarding him. So, I don't really see that as a problem."Anyhow, if it’s not Lamar Jackson’s franchise, then whose? It could be Jaxson Dart’s Giants. How? Let’s find out.

Peter Woods for New York Giants after Dexter Lawrence’s exit

ESPN’s Jordan Reid reports that Clemson DT Peter Woods could bring a lot of explosiveness to the Giants’ interior defensive line, especially now, when their longtime player Dexter Lawrence has left for the Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals.Back in March 2026, when contract talks were still fresh between Lawrence and New York, Big Blue View’s Chris Pflum predicted Peter Woods for the Giants. He is projected as a high-volume defensive lineman in an aggressive one-gap defense. His star trait is the ability to line up as a stand-up rusher on the edge. His arm length could be a concern for teams, but his versatility could allow teams to scheme him opportunities to disrupt and stand out. Giants could be a fit depending on the scheme. He is projected to be an early second-round pick. His best traits were listed as explosiveness, power, leverage, versatility, and disruptiveness. His weaknesses are block shedding, long speed, and consistency.

Clemson Tigers DT Peter Woods for the Kansas City Chiefs

ESPN's Nate Taylor predicts Peter Woods for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs need depth behind veteran Chris Jones and rookie Omarr Norman-Lott. Woods could be an interesting prospect. He can contribute in a rotational role.Update: Kansas City Chiefs selected defensive tackle Peter Woods at pick No. 29 in the 2026 NFL Draft on April 23.So, would it be New York, Baltimore, or Kansas City that drafts Woods? Only time will tell… very few days remaining now!
