“If I can kill you, I will kill you” - Anthony Joshua issues brutal warning to Jake Paul ahead of Netflix showdown
The former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says there will be no mercy inside the ring against Jake Paul on Friday. The bout will take place at the Kaseya Center and will be streamed worldwide on Netflix. Despite rumors online suggesting the fight could be fixed, Joshua has strongly rejected those claims.
Joshua insists this is a serious contest and part of his final push toward boxing glory. He believes Paul deserves respect for stepping in the ring, but not sympathy. Known for his calm and polite image outside boxing, Joshua says that version of him will not appear on fight night. With 25 knockouts in 28 wins, he has promised heavy punches and a decisive ending.
Speaking during open workouts in Miami on Tuesday night, Anthony Joshua made his intentions very clear. He addressed the crowd during an in-ring interview and did not hold back.
“It has to be done. Jake Paul, you’ve got some big balls and I’ve got to give him respect for taking the fight because I’m f***ing ready, it’s go time… They want to see some big heavy punches thrown and they want to see someone knocked out, and I’m going to deliver”, he said during an in-ring interview.
Joshua later doubled down during a media roundtable with select outlets. He was asked whether any part of him wanted to go easy on Paul, who is smaller and less experienced. His answer was short and sharp, “Zero part of me.”
He then noted that his usual side will be left outside the ring once the fight begins.
“It’s not just that it’s Jake. I was actually looking at myself today, I’m a very respectful guy brought up by a good family. But if I can kill you, I will kill you. That’s just how I am and this is just the job I do, so let’s go. I’m carrying boxing on my back, I did it with the Francis Ngannou fight and I’m doing it again. I understand the expectation, I don’t carry it because the expectation I have on myself is enough but I acknowledge it, I understand it and I respect it”, he explained.
Joshua believes this fight is about more than just entertainment. He sees it as protecting boxing’s image and delivering what fans expect. While Jake Paul has built a reputation for big events and bold talk, Joshua says Friday night will be about real power and real consequences.
