“I have a plea, really.”: Golf insider makes a heartfelt requests Tiger Woods to play in the PGA Tours champions as he celebrates his 50th birthday

Tiger Woods celebrated his 50th birthday this Tuesday. At the moment of the celebration, he received a sincere request from a golf insider to play in the PGA Tour Champions.

Apparently, because of his several injuries, the 15-time major winner has been a shadow of his former self in recent years. He hasn’t played much on the Tour since his terrible car crash accident in 2021, leaving many wondering if he will ever win the record-breaking 83rd PGA Tour.


With 82 victories, Tiger Woods and Sam Snead hold the record for the most PGA Tour victories. Lastly, he won the Zozo Championship back in 2019; ever since, fans have been anticipating one more win from him.



Since health is his major concern, Woods missed the cut at the 2024 Open Championship, his final competitive start. As of this year, He did’nt started, because, shortly before the Masters Tournament, he damaged his Achilles tendon.

Woods was scheduled to make his debut at the Genesis Invitational in February. However, he took his name back and withdrew from the competition after his mother, Kultida Woods, passed away.


But for now, he is qualified for the senior tour since he turns 50. The overwhelming majority of PGA Tour Champions events are 54 holes, compared to the PGA Tour. Furthermore, players are allowed to use a cart.




Woods might gain from this since he could use a cart instead of walking all 18 holes. Ernie Els, one of his old rivals, encouraged him to join them earlier this year and see if he could defeat him and everyone else once more.


Golf insider Dan Rapaport made a huge plea to Tiger Woods

Golf insider Dan Rapaport made a strong appeal to him on his fiftieth birthday. In the recent video posted on social media, Dan expresses his wish that there was nothing more fulfilling than seeing him compete for a championship in the final round.




“Tiger, on your 50th birthday, I have a request. I have a plea, really. It’s been way too long since we’ve seen you in the heat of competition… the TOUR is in a great spot without you. You know, the young guys have done a good job carrying the mantle, Scottie (Scheffler) and Rory (McIlroy) and the rest of them. But there is still nothing like watching Tiger Woods in the heat of the mix on the back nine on Sunday.”

Many people wished Tiger a happy fiftieth birthday, and one of them was Phil Mickelson, who wrote him a poignant, sweet note shared in a post on X.

“Wishing @TigerWoods a happy 50th birthday. His contributions to golf are numerous and appreciated by all who love the game.”

Phil Mickelson was one of the biggest competitors to Tiger Woods; the two did become close later in their careers after some intense battles over the years.
