“I gotta take his soul” - Anthony Joshua says he knows how to break Jake Paul ahead of Miami showdown
Anthony Joshua has spoken out about his honest thoughts about his upcoming boxing match against Jake Paul. The two heavyweights are set to meet this weekend at the Kaseya Center in Miami in a professional bout. With Joshua’s size, power, and years of elite experience, many fans believe the former world champion holds a clear advantage.
Despite that, some fanatics feel Jake Paul’s unorthodox style could give a tough fight. Notably, Paul has built a reputation for backing himself in big fights. The matchup has created debate, with both fighters making bold claims about how the fight will play out inside the ring.
During a recent face-to-face meeting, Anthony Joshua explained why he believes he has Jake Paul figured out. He said the key to victory is not just physical dominance but mental control. According to Joshua, breaking Paul’s mindset will decide the outcome of the fight.
“He’s a mental person. If I can break his soul, and I can break his mentality, then I’ve broken Jake. That’s why I said, I gotta take his soul. It’s not just physical, I gotta take your soul in the ring… You have that instinct. You can see it. When you’re fighting, you can see a small glimmer of someone just starting to fade, and then you just keep exploiting that… Some people give up, some people get knocked out”, Joshua said.
Joshua’s comments highlight his belief in his experience and ring awareness. He feels he can sense weakness and apply pressure until his opponent breaks.
Jake Paul, however, is not worried about a knockout loss. The former Disney star recently rejected the idea that Joshua can stop him inside the ring. Paul believes his movement and timing will neutralize Joshua’s power.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Paul shared his confidence and outlined his plan for the fight. He said, “I don’t think he can knock me out because he’s not going to be able to line up his shots properly to be able to land the hard punch. I think it’s going to be a very tough fight for multiple rounds, but then when I figure out his pacing, his style, his speed, his footwork, he’s going to get a little bit tired trying to chase me around, and then I’m going to set up the shot. I’m not going to say exactly what, but I see what it is and I think it will end in the fifth or sixth round.”
With both fighters confident and the spotlight on Miami, the upcoming fight night promises a dramatic showdown between the two renowned stars.
