Former Brazil football star Hulk has shared deeply personal wedding vows after marrying Camila Angelo, the niece of his ex-wife, during a grand ceremony in Brazil. The 38-year-old footballer, who plays for Atlético Mineiro, renewed his marriage in a religious ceremony held last Friday in his hometown of Campina Grande. The event came five years after the couple first married in a civil ceremony.
The wedding quickly drew attention because Hulk was earlier married to Camila’s aunt, Iran Angelo, for 12 years. That marriage ended in 2019, and the couple share three children. According to Game, Set & Match, Hulk described Camila as the “love of my life” during the ceremony, which reportedly cost $3.2 million (£2.6 million). His words, filled with emotion and faith, were shared publicly for the first time this week.

During the ceremony on Tuesday, Hulk spoke openly about his journey and his bond with Camila Angelo. As quoted by Game, Set & Match, he said:
“2025, I realised a childhood dream which was to marry the love of my life in the Campina Grande cathedral. Five years ago, I began the life I never imagined living.”
He continued:
“Only God knows what we have faced and are facing to be here. Many have no idea the size of our love, but I confess that I can’t even explain how I feel for you.”
Hulk also shared how Camila Angelo changed his view on marriage and trust.
“When I looked at couples loving and respecting each other, I thought it was all a facade. But it was only when you came into my life that God showed me that yes, it is possible to live it in real life.”
He ended his vows with a promise of lifelong support.
“I give you my heart and promise that I will walk with you hand in hand. I promise to love and care for you and to be a true and loyal friend. I will love you eternally, my love.”
Camila Angelo also shared her vows and said marrying Hulk “was not difficult at all” because, in her words, “it would be difficult to live without you.”
Not everyone welcomed the wedding. Iran Angelo’s sister, Rayssa, criticized Camila on social media, sharing emotional posts about family betrayal.
Hulk and Camila Angelo first went public with their relationship in December 2019. They married in a civil ceremony in September 2020 while Hulk was playing in China. A spokesperson for Hulk said at the time that he informed both families directly and chose honesty to avoid rumors.
The couple now have two children together, Zaya and Aisha. The church ceremony was held at the Diocesan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception, decorated with white roses. Hulk wore a wine-colored suit, while Camila wore a gown designed by Samuel Cirnansck.
