British teen racer Will Macintyre, only 18 years of age, recently took to his social media account to share heartbreaking news with fans. He will be fully focusing on beating the odds and coming out from this life-altering situation.
Teen racer Will Macintyre reveals cancer diagnosis
Will Macintyre, who started his motorsports journey at the young age of 8, was seen driving around the circuit until last month. But for the past few weeks he had gone off the radar, and only recently revealed why. He took to his official Instagram account to reveal his cancer diagnosis - and thanked all those who stood by him during his tough times.
The official account of Elite Motorsport - the team Macintyre was a part of, also shared a message relaying the young racer's life-altering diagnosis. They first shared the upsetting news before declaring that the team will be there to support the teenager in this journey away from the circuit.
Will Macintyre is being treated at Milton Keynes Hospital
In his September 17 post on Instagram, Will Macintyre shared a few pictures of himself with a long caption, revealing how life has been for him recently.
All three pictures were from his time in the hospital, and he has thanked his “amazing team” at Milton Keynes Hospital in Eaglestone for helping him through this situation.
“This is a very different post to usual, but I’ll just spit it out. Over the past few months, I haven’t quite felt myself and now it’s starting to make a bit more sense as to why. I’ve been diagnosed with both brain and lung cancer. Sadly, it’s as serious as it sounds!"
He further added how this diagnosis will impact his racing journey, writing, "Unfortunately, this does mean I won’t be racing for the foreseeable future. But rest assured the second I’m able to, I’ll be back behind the wheel where I belong."
Hopefully, this is only a small detour in his life, and Macintyre will be back behind the wheels and in the racing circuit soon enough. Fans around the world wish all the best.
