BEL OMBRE (MAURITIUS): It took Callum Hill some brilliant putting on the last two holes to stay top of the leaderboard going into the final day of the tri-sanctioned AfrAsia Bank

Mauritius Open

. The 25-year-old Scot fell two behind the leading pack when he dropped a shot on the 16th.

But birdies on 17th and 18th holes helped Hill bring home a card of four-under 68 at the Heritage Golf Club on Saturday and tie for the lead with Belgian

Thomas Detry

(67) and Frenchman Antoine Rozner (66) at 16-under.

Like Hill, Rozner rode a late surge (birdie-birdie finish) to convert a decent round into a good one. Having ended Day 2 at tied fifth, the temperamental Frenchman roared back to contention for his maiden European title. Close on the heels of the front-running trio are Sihwan Kim (US) and Danish teen Rasmus Hojgaard at 15-under for the week. The 31-year-old Kim has been a model of consistency, giving himself a shot at victory with his third straight 67, while wonderboy Hojggard mixed seven birdies with a solitary bogey for another impressive card (66).

A further shot adrift are South African

Brandon Stone

, who salvaged a nightmarish front nine with a stunning six birdie run in last eight holes, and young Italian

Renato Paratore

who fired a bogey-free 66. Teeing off together at 9 am,

Jyoti Randhawa

and Abhijit Chadha both managed their third successive sub-par rounds. But it was Randhawa who nudged ahead with a 2-under 70 to be tied 35th.
