Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner has predicted that there could be as many as eight different grand prix winners in the Formula 1 2025 season as most of the big challengers look “similar”. He however, added that Ferrari is that one team that could stand out from the rest. When Lewis Hamilton’s switch from Mercedes to Ferrari continues to be the talk of the talk, Horner’s latest statement adds fuel to the speculations of who can dominate the upcoming season.

Horner’s statement can create quite a buzz with Red Bull’s Max Verstappan being the reigning F1 champion from last year. Sharing his observations after the Bahrain test, he told the media, as quoted by PlanetF1.com, “I think that into this cycle of regulations, it’s clear that the cars have converged and they look very, very similar. I think probably Ferrari is a standout as probably being a differentiator. But, you know, that’s inevitable, that marginal gains are going to be there. Every surface on our car is different to last year, it just looks similar because it’s a similar philosophy.”
Talking about the Red Bull car, Horner said, “I think we’ve just got to improve across some of the characteristics of last year’s car. And I think the team have worked very hard on that over the off-season. Let’s not forget, we still won nine races and four sprint races with that car last year. So we had a reasonable basis from which to develop.”

He further added that the “competition is very tight” as the cars look very similar.
He, however, went on to credit McLaren Zak Brown for actually making the prediction of getting multiple F1 winners this season. “So I think the biggest winner out of that would be the fans and the followers of the sport. Because as Zak [Brown, McLaren Racing CEO] says, you could quite easily have eight winners this year, and you know, some curveballs in there as well. It could really be pretty open,” he said.

And there's more in the series that premiered on Netflix on March 7. This is contributing in building up to the anticipation for the season opener in Melbourne when the F1 drivers will compete against each other at the Australian Grand Prix on March 16.
