Over the years, the Formula One management team has seen some wonderful team principals of certain racing teams creating a legacy in Formula One history. As of now, there is a total of six major team principals who have served as the longest principal for their respective teams in Formula One.Starting from Sir Frank Williams to Christian Horner to Colin Chapman to Enzo Ferrari, and many more have been associated as the team principal for their respective teams for more than 10 years. Sir Frank Williams was not only one of the most celebrated team principals of the Williams Formula 1 team, but was also the founder of the team. From 1977 to 2020, Sir Frank Williams served as the team principal, making him one of the longest-serving team principals in the history of Formula One. During his tenure, the team won around 16 World championships, creating a legacy for the years.
In the second number, Enzo Ferrari, who is the principal of the Scuderia Ferrari racing team, has been in post for more than 38 years. Enzo Ferrari founded his team, Scuderia Ferrari, in the year 1929, and he served as the team principal until the year 1988. Under the leadership of Enzo Ferrari, the team secured nine World Drivers' championships and eight World Constructors’ championship making him one of the most successful team principals.
In the third number comes Colin Chapman, who has been the team principal for nearly 28 years for the Lotus Racing team in Formula One. Colin Chapman built his racing team as one of the most dominating forces in Formula One.

Rankings and the timeline of the team principals who mastered the Formula One game

With the same timeline around 28 years, Ron Dennis, who was the team principal of McLaren, served as one of the longest-serving team principals. In the year 1981, Ron Dennis became the team principal of the McLaren group, and he served until the year 2009, during which McLaren developed significantly by winning several championships. Another most celebrated team principal currently with Red Bull Racing is Christian Horner, who was not only a team principal but also a former Formula One driver. He was appointed as the team principal in the year 2005 and served as one leading figures in Formula One management. However, after serving for nearly 20 years, Christian Horner parted ways with the Red Bull Racing company, facing internal conflicts. At last, in the ranking comes Toto Wolff, who is still serving as one of the longest-serving team principals for the Mercedes racing team. He joined the team in the year 2013, developing the Mercedes racing team into one of the most successful racing teams in the present day.
