Former Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher is preparing to marry his partner Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne in a luxurious ceremony in St. Tropez on Saturday, May 30. The wedding has already attracted huge attention because it will be filmed for a television documentary series that follows the couple’s personal life. The event is expected to last three days and will feature more than 100 guests at the beautiful French coastal location near Monaco.

The wedding will also become the final episode of the documentary series “Ralf & Etienne: Wir sagen Ja,” which is currently airing every Thursday. The couple, who have been together since 2022, announced their engagement earlier this year. Fans will get a close look at the preparations for the ceremony, including family moments, emotional conversations, and even Etienne’s cosmetic treatment before the wedding celebrations begin.

Ralf Schumacher opens up ahead of lavish wedding ceremony

Ralf Schumacher and Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne have decided to make their wedding public instead of keeping it private. Television cameras from Sky and Wow are covering the celebrations as part of the documentary. The couple’s home in the south of France, which once belonged to Schumacher and his former wife Cora, has become the center of the wedding preparations.

One emotional part of the series shows Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne undergoing cosmetic surgery before the wedding. Schumacher admitted that he did not support the idea and felt such procedures were unnecessary. He explained that growing older naturally together should already be something beautiful. However, Etienne shared that he has never been fully happy with his appearance and still wanted to go ahead with the treatment.

The former F1 star also revealed that hospitals bring back painful memories for him because of family tragedies. His comments appeared to reference the serious skiing accident suffered by his brother Michael Schumacher in 2013. Since that accident, Michael has stayed away from the public eye, and very little information about his health has been shared by the family.

Ralf’s son, David Schumacher, is expected to serve as best man during the ceremony. However, his racing schedule could create problems for his attendance. David admitted missing the wedding would deeply disappoint him, although he jokingly hoped this would be his father’s final marriage.

The couple has also chosen navy blue suits for the wedding. Schumacher preferred the practical color choice because the suits could be worn again later. Etienne reportedly preferred beige, while David joked that half the guests would likely appear in similar navy outfits. Schumacher laughed off the comments and said he no longer needs to be the center of attention.
