Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner shows interest in buying into Alpine

One of the potential investors involved in the preliminary talks for acquiring the Alpine Formula One team is none other than Christian Horner. A reputed figure in Formula One, who had acted as a team principal for the Red Bull Racing company for nearly 20 years, departed from the team in 2025 after facing internal conflicts.

As of now, Otro Capital, one of the leading investors of the team, decided to sell the Alpine Formula One team, which Christian Horner has been eyeing to invest in. Amongst the many investors constantly approaching the Alpine Formula One team to invest, the team confirmed the involvement of Christian Horner.

Christian Horner has been a leading figure in the Formula One family, as he is one of the longest-serving team principals, having joined the Red Bull Racing company in the year 2005. Christian Horner’s role as a team principal has helped several drivers of the Red Bull Racing team become Formula One champions. Before entering the management of Formula One, Christian Horner was a professional racing driver.


Amongst all the team principals of Formula One, Christian Horner is considered the youngest team principal to be appointed for the Red Bull Racing team. After facing certain internal conflicts within the team and a deterioration in the team's performance, Christian Horner had to depart from the post of team principal of the Red Bull Racing team.

Even though there is still official confirmation waiting to be released by the team, Christian Horner has made it clear that he wants to have full control of the team when he returns as an investor. Further, talks are there that Christian Horner is looking forward to being appointed to a post that is considered senior to the post of the team principal and should be considered as one of the significant shareholders.
