“Win across all generations”: Mark Webber lauds Mitch Evans’ for 15th Formula E victory
Mitch Evans registered his 15th Formula E race victory in Miami this year, all while remaining loyal to just one team, Jaguar TCS Racing. He also passed the 1,000-point career mark with his record win. Former F1 driver Mark Webber congratulated the Kiwi on his special achievement, praising him for winning across all generations of cars. Evans thanked him for his kind comments.
Responding to Webber’s message, Mitch Evans said, “Yeah, Mark's been there since 2011. He's given me the opportunity to come over to Europe and compete in Formula E, and he's been by my side throughout this journey. It's really, really special, so it's not just me that I feel like I'm representing, it's the people who have supported me along the way. Mark and his wife Anne have been a huge, huge part of that.”
Reacting to the video on Instagram, a fan wrote: “The fact that 15 wins is the most wins shows how insanely competitive this series is, so fun to watch.” Another commented: “And this season you have a top racing mate to keep pushing you so that you both can be at the top spot for sure, am I right @afelixdacosta?” One more said: “Absolutely incredible! This was the sweetest!”
The 31-year-old went on to secure another podium in Round 4 in Jeddah by finishing third. He is now fifth in the Formula E Drivers’ Standings with 47 points.
He now has a month-long break before Formula E resumes at the inaugural Madrid E-Prix. It is a new venue on the calendar, which still has 12 more races remaining before the season finale in August.
