Nick Cassidy has done the unthinkable! The Citroen Racing driver shaved his head after honoring a bet he made for winning the Mexico City E-Prix. Cassidy had struck a deal with Citroen Racing teammate Jean-Eric Vergne that he would go bald if he won the race, continuing a trend that has seen the Mexico City E-Prix winner go on to claim the Formula E title for the past three seasons. Vergne himself took the initiative and gave Cassidy the haircut, with fans left impressed by Cassidy’s gesture and praising the Kiwi driver for keeping his word.

Nick Cassidy fulfills bet, shaves head after winning Mexico City E-Prix

Citroen Racing shared a video on Instagram showing Jean-Éric Vergne shaving Nick Cassidy’s head, captioning it: “Never bet your hair. Especially with Jean-Éric Vergne. Earlier in the last episode, a deal was made: if Nick Cassidy won the race, the clippers were his consequence. No rewrites. No alternate ending. Race day delivered the plot twist, Nick won. And the script stayed intact. So, true to his word, he took a seat… and JEV stepped in for the final scene. No stunt doubles. No second takes.”Formula E’s official Instagram account commented, “Bad boy energy,” while Envision Racing added, “Nick Cassi-baldy?” Cupra Kiro driver Dan Ticktum also weighed in, writing, “Fair play @nickcassidy_ for going through with that bet. I could never.” One fan commented, “The bet worked—now what will Nick do if he wins the title?”
Another fan praised Vergne’s unexpected barber skills, saying, “Didn’t know JEV was a barber, pretty good at it too!” Another wrote, “Fair play for following through. Huge respect!”

Why did Nick Cassidy shave his head?

Nick Cassidy finished third at the Sao Paulo E-Prix before winning the Mexico City E-Prix and currently leads the championship after two races.
According to a three-year trend, all recent Mexico City E-Prix winners, including Jake Dennis, Pascal Wehrlein, and Oliver Rowland, have gone on to win the Formula E title in their respective seasons. After his Mexico City victory, Cassidy said: “I made a deal with JEV [Jean-Eric Vergne] on Thursday that if I won, I’d shave my head. There’s a statistic that whoever wins this race wins the championship, so I wasn’t giving that one up. If we win the championship, I’ll shave my head anyway!”Cassidy is currently competing at the Miami E-Prix, with the final race scheduled for Saturday at 2:05 p.m. local time. Also read: “If I won, I’d shave my head”: Nick Cassidy on his deal with Jean-Eric Vergne after Mexico City E-Prix victory
