Dan Ticktum and Pepe Marti’s funny video is all Formula E fans need ahead of Mexico E-Prix

Cupra Kiro duo Dan Ticktum and Josep “Pepe” Marti are all geared up for the Mexico E-Prix. The race, scheduled for January 10 next year, will be the second round of Formula E Season 12. The pair seem to be engaged in some rather unusual preparation, and Cupra Kiro has shared proof of their off-track fun. Marti made his Formula E debut in Sao Paulo, but it ended in a horrific accident when his car rode over Antonio Felix Da Costa’s Jaguar and landed on the track in pieces.

Ahead of the Mexico E-Prix, Dan Ticktum shared a humorous video with Josep “Pepe” Marti along with the caption: “We could add context but I don’t think it would help.”

Formula E fans loved the clip. One commented, “Lol, best intro ever! And the caption.” Another wrote, “We need more Titi content like this in Mexico.” A third reacted, “They're so funny.” Another fan even joked, “This is gonna be the best blockbuster movie this season.”

What went wrong with Pepe Marti’s Formula E debut in Sao Paulo?

Pepe Marti, whose full name is Josep “Pepe” Maria Marti, appeared disappointed after the crash. He apologized to Cupra Kiro in an emotional note on Instagram following the Sao Paulo race.


He wrote: “It wasn't the dream debut… A free session and onto the grading. We raced back, we had the points, the podium... but the accident came. I went down to 50 km/h when marked by the regulations of the Full Course Yellow, but I didn't expect them to brake so early in front. It is what it is. I assume my fault. That's how racing is sometimes. Apologize to the @kiroraceco team for not being able to return all the work with a good result. Thank you all for your messages. It was a hard hit but I'm good. Time to rest and prepare for the next one in Mexico!”

Cupra Kiro reassured him in the comments, writing: “Just glad you’re okay, we’ll come back fighting in Mexico.” The reply confirmed that there were no lingering issues within the team after the unfortunate debut.

Marti, 20, hails from Barcelona, Spain, and is managed by Fernando Alonso’s management team. Before joining Cupra Kiro, he was part of the Red Bull Junior Team.
