Football fans are in for a major treat as Qatar prepares to host the Qatar Football Festival 2026, running from 26 to 31 March. The headline attraction will be the Finalissima 2026, a blockbuster clash between Argentina and Spain that could see Lionel Messi face off against Spain’s rising star Lamine Yamal on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Organised by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for Football Events, the festival will bring together some of the world’s most popular national teams for six exciting matches.
Alongside the Finalissima, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Serbia will take part in a series of international games designed to help teams test their form and fine-tune their squads ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The Finalissima will be played on 27 March at the iconic Lusail Stadium.
As champions of Copa America, Argentina will take on European champions Spain in a match that promises star power.
For fans, it’s a rare chance to see two football giants collide outside of the World Cup.
The festival kicks off on 26 March with Egypt facing Saudi Arabia at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, while Qatar will host Serbia at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on the same day.
Action continues on 30 March as Egypt meet Spain at Lusail Stadium and Saudi Arabia play Serbia at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
The festival wraps up on 31 March with a high-profile match between Qatar and Argentina at Lusail.
Tickets for the matches will go on sale from 25 February 2026 via roadtoqatar(dot)qa. For fans travelling from abroad, special travel packages will be available from 1 February 2026, created in partnership with Visit Qatar and Qatar Airways.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairman of the LOC for Football Events, said Qatar is proud to welcome teams and supporters from around the world. He added that hosting the festival shows Qatar’s ongoing commitment to delivering world-class football experiences.
Lusail Stadium, already famous for unforgettable moments during the
FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and Qatar’s Asian Cup triumph, will once again take centre stage—ready to create new memories in global football history.
