Nagpur FC struggle to win in NDFA Elite Division Football League

NAGPUR: Nagpur Football Club overcame a late challenge from Nagpur Academy to register a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the Meghe NDFA Elite Division Football League at the Police Line Takli ground here on Friday.
All the three goals came in the second-half after a lop-sided first session. Girik Khosla broke the deadlock in the 65th minute to provide a lead for Nagpur FC.Nagpur Academy levelled the scores (1-1) through Abdul Akhtar, who beat Nagpur FC goalkeeper in the 81st minute.
However, just three minutes later, Nagpur FC regained the lead when their prolific scorer Sushant Bhivgade slammed a brilliant goal much to the celebration of his teammates. In a low-scoring Super Division League tie, New Globe defeated Big Ben Club 1-0. The match-winning goal was netted by Abdul Raheem in the 36th minute.
State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) rallied back splendidly to down Nagpur City 'B' 2-1. Jawala Choudhary drew the first blood for Nagpur City 'B' but SRPF fought back to clinch the win. First Shahnawaz Sheikh restored parity in the 30th minute and then in the closing moments of the match Iqbal Sheikh hammered the match-winner.
