Mohun Bagan organised a Grassroots Football Festival on Saturday at the club's ground amidst much fanfare and a carnival-like atmosphere, to commemorate AFC Grassroots Day among the young players.
Boys of age groups 8 to 14 years participated in the festival.
The event kicked off at 7 am at the club ground. Mohun Bagan A and B team of Under-14 played against Mohun Bagan A and B team of U-12.
Also, the U-8 and U-10 boys were involved in the various fun drills and games.
The aim of the festival was primarily to create interest among the kids and also to provide them the right platform to display their talents.
The day also witnessed almost 250 junior participants being involved in various activities.
The festival was conducted and supervised by the Youth Development Department of Mohun Bagan.
Yan Law, AIFF development officer was present for the event. “I am delight to see a large number of kids are showing their interest in football,” Law said.
He also appreciated Mohun Bagan for the initiative to promote and develop the game in grassroots level.
