KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club stumbled in just their second match of the
Calcutta Football League Premier Division A campaign as they went down 1-2 to Tollygunge Agragami at the club ground on Tuesday.
All three goals were scored in the first session of the encounter. It was Kareem Omolaja who put Tollygunge Agragami in the lead in the 26th minute of the encounter when he scored directly from a free-kick.
Mohammedan Sporting Club managed to level matters eight minutes later when Leonce Dodoz flicked home an assist by Manvir Singh.
However, Tollygunge Agragami restored their one-goal advantage just five minutes after that when Pranit Lama took advantage of poor positioning and marking of the Mohammedan Sporting Club defenders to head in a free-kick.
The second session of the game failed to produce a goal as Tollygunge Agragami went home with full points. They now have seven points in their kitty after having played three matches. On the other hand, Mohammedan Sporting Club stayed on three points from two matches.
Meanwhile,
Mohun Bagan will play their second match of the Calcutta Football League Premier Division against George Telegraph at the club ground on Wednesday. Bagan had started their campaign with a 5-1 win over Aryan Club. Mohun Bagan will once again look up to striker Darryl Duffy who scored a hat-trick in the last match. The team’s midfielders Robinson Singh and Prabir Das are doubtful for the game with injuries.
On the other hand, George Telegraph have one point from two matches. They drew 1-1 with Aryan Club in their first match before going down to Tollygunge Agragami 1-2.
