Manchester City wrapped up their sensational season with their maiden UEFA Champions League late on Saturday night, beating three-time champions Inter Milan 1-0 in the summit clash at the Ataturk Stadium. Man City completed a historic treble in the season after winning European club football's biggest prize for the first time in Istanbul.

Manchester City become the fourth different English side to win the UEFA Champions League, after Man United (1999, 2008), Liverpool (2005, 2019) and Chelsea (2012, 2021) -- the most of any nation.

Manchester City completed a sensational season by beating Inter Milan 1-0 to win the Champions League for the first time on a Saturday night of frayed nerves at the Ataturk Stadium. Spanish midfielder Rodri's 68th-minute goal settled a cagey contest that a far-from-fluent City dominated but they never looked comfortable against the three-time winners. Inter almost levelled at the death when a point-blank header by substitute Romelu Lukaku was saved by Ederson. It completed a treble for City, making them only the second English club to complete it after Manchester United also won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in 1999. City manager Pep Guardiola has now won the Champions League three times and took his trophy count with City to 12.

WHAT A STRIKE! Rodri latched on to a Bernardo Silva pull-back from the byline and sent an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner. No chance for Inter keeper. The pull-back took a deflection off Darmian, which prompted a penalty appeal from City players. However, Rodri pounced on the loose ball to give City a lead.

58' - SAVE! City keeper Ederson denies Martinez. What a chance for Inter. A back pass was left untouched by Akanji, thinking the keeper was on the way. But Ederson did not went for the ball and Martinez got it at a tight angle. The Inter striker went for glory but was denied by the City keeper.

End of the first half in Istanbul. It remained 0-0 between Manchester City and Inter Milan at the break. City enjoyed the majority of possession (62%) but had nothing to show off from it as they managed just four shots on goal with two on target. Inter with just 38% possession too have four shots on goal, even though with just one on target. The best chance came to City striker Haaland, but he was denied by Inter keeper Onana, who produced a good save with his extended left leg. In Haaland's defence, it was a tight angle left-footed attempt. City also lost their charismatic mid-fielder Kevin De Bruyne to injury as he was replaced by Phil Foden after just 35 minutes of play.
