Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK), Kolkata

Its current capacity is 85,000 and is the largest stadium in India. Before it's 2011 renovation however, it had a seating capacity of 120,000 and was the second largest football stadium in the world. The record attendance of 131,000 was set in 1997 in a Kolkata Derby match between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.

Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium (JNI), Kochi

Built in 1996, this multipurpose stadium is situated in Kochi, Kerala and is known locally as the "Kaloor Stadium". Architecturally the stadium is distinctive, with giant convex floodlight pylons arching over the ground. This makes for a furnace-like effect when the ground is at all of its 55,000-strong capacity, and makes the Kaloor Stadium, one of the noisiest in the world at full capacity.

4/6

Indira Gandhi Athletic International Stadium (IGAI), Guwahati

The Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium with a capacity of 30,000 spectators is situated in Guwahati, capital to the state of Assam. Used mainly for football, it has also had its fair share of athletic events. It hosted the 33rd National Games of India, and recently played host to the 2016 South Asian Games.

5/6

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (PJN), Goa

The PJN Fatorda stadium is located in the city of Margao and is Goa's only international stadium and has a seating capacity of 19,000 spectators. The venue was opened in 1989 and renovated in 2014 for the Lusofonia Games. It is the current home of FC Goa (ISL), Dempo SC, Salgaocar SC, and Sporting Clube de Goa (all I-League clubs).

6/6

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLNS), New Delhi

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is an all-seater facility for 58,000 spectators that hosts football and athletics. In terms of seating capacity, it is the fourth largest multipurpose stadium in India and the 51st largest in the world. It was built in 1982 for the Asian Games and renovated completely for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. It also hosted the 1989 Asian Championships in Athletics.
