Victorious Windies captain, Jason Holder credits his boys for playing an outstanding game of cricket and is really please that they hung in there nicely. Reckons his partnership with Shai was important and admits that he should have stayed there longer. Adds that they knew India were a batter short and if they remove Dhoni early, they will get into the lower order. On his spinners, Holder says that Nurse was outstanding and it's good to see him taking crucial wickets and also adding vital runs. Feels that not much has changed and the guys are just learning and thriving to become consistent. Mentions that being consistent is the key to winning matches.

Adds that when Shai Hope got out, he decided to take on the bowlers as the score wasn't too big then. Also mentions that he backs his strengths. India's skipper, Virat Kohli says that they bowled pretty well as the wicket wasn't offering much in the first 35 overs. Terms the bowling performance as very professional and admits that they should have closed it well in the last 10 overs. Feels they should have been chasing 250-260. States that the target was pretty much gettable but they didn't get the partnerships going. Credits Windies for playing better cricket and believes they deserved to win. On team combinations, Kohli replies when both Kedar and Pandya are playing they get an extra batsman/bowler option which gives them the depth. Mentions it's difficult to get the balance right without them. On his batting, Kohli states that he doesn't want to talk about it much and it's a bit embarrassing when people ask him the same thing again and again. On his dismissal, the Indian skipper tells that he wanted to go after Samuels but failed to execute the shot well. Adds that they need to take wins and losses in their stride and they are looking forward to the challenge in Mumbai.

Windies were excellent with their intensity in the field. They felt the pressure initially when Kohli and Dhawan were going strong. But the tourists never lost hope. They managed to pick wickets at regular intervals which kept them very much in the game. It can be considered as a masterstroke by Jason Holder to give the ball to Marlon Samuels who earned them the wicket of the danger man, Virat Kohli. He finished with three wickets while Ashley Nurse, Obed McCoy and Holder bagged two wickets apiece.

21:34 (IST) Oct 27

India's vulnerable point (middle order) was touched and exposed today. Chasing a stiff target, they lost Rohit Sharma early. Then, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan put together a 79-run stand which was followed by a few more partnerships involving the Indian skipper. Kohli held one end tightly and went on to notch up yet another century. However, the rest of the batting unit failed to give him enough support. Eventually, Marlon Samuels managed to pick the prized scalp of Kohli and the writing was on the wall. Still, they managed to drag it for a few overs, although the result was pretty much inevitable.

21:25 (IST) Oct 27

A magnificent victory for Windies! They were competitive in the first ODI, came close in the second and now have finally crossed the hurdle in the third attempt. Mind you, they have beaten India in spite of the home team having their first-choice bowling attack and more importantly, Virat Kohli scoring a century. Credit should be given to them. They deserve to be on level terms.
