NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee Chris Broad on Tuesday issued an official warning to young Indian fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel during the fourth ODI against the West Indies in Mumbai on Monday.
The incident happened in the 14th over when the left-arm pacer advanced aggressively towards Marlon Samuels after dismissing him.

The on-field umpires, Ian Gould and Anil Chaudhary, viewed it as a provocative action, which led to Ahmed receiving an official warning and one demerit point after being found guilty of violating Article 2.5 of the Code, which relates to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an international match".

Ahmed admitted the offence following India's comprehensive win and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Broad, so there was no need for a formal hearing.
The hosts won the match by a mammoth 224 runs, as Ahmed starred with the ball in his spell of 3/13 to give his team a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
