... THE RUN CHASE ...

The target is 211 on the board. It is not a big target, but folks, the track surely has something for the bowlers. It's no doubt a hard pitch, but there are some patches where the ball skids low, and if the English bowlers exploit those, then Pakistan's batting unit has some work to do on this second inning. Abdul Subhan from Pakistan Under-19 says that the wicket was helping the spinners and reckons every wicket in Zimbabwe tends to be spin-friendly. Adds that the captain and coach asked him to focus on dot balls and that's what he did out there, and they got the reward for it as well. Mentions that they have 4-5 amazing fielders in the squad, and they compete amongst each other as to who will get more catches and run outs. Ends by saying that he likes to sing, and sometimes he performs for his teammates. 

After that, the set batter who notched up his fifty, Caleb Falconer (66 off 73 balls), was dismissed by Ali Raza just after three overs, and after that event, no real threat was proposed from England Under-19, and they ended up putting 210 runs. If we talk about Pakistan's bowlers, they were simply outstanding. After winning the toss, the bowlers may have been a bit wayward with the new ball but they came back strongly, and for that reason, the opposition batters couldn't swing away their bat to hit big. Tight fielding also suffocated the opposition from rotating the strikes and put them under pressure. By the end of the inning, Ahmed Hussain bagged three wickets, and Ali Raza, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar picked up two scalps each.

The English batters had a cautious start, yet the Pakistan Under-19 bowlers got the wickets at the right time. Usually, we have seen bright young pacers coming from the Pakistan camp, but Ahmed Hussain showed that there are some real quality spinners as well. It was Hussain and Ali Raza who shook hands to clear the English top order. England Under-19 were 90 for 4 in the 19th over, and just when they wanted a batter who could play a long knock, they had it in the shape of Caleb Falconer, whereas Ralphie Albert provided the supporting role. They both had a partnership of 80, but Hussain stepped up for Pakistan and ended the most crucial partnership by eliminating Albert. 

It was an outstanding bowling effort, and we can fairly say that Pakistan Under-19 have got a bit of an upper hand in the contest! Not only did they bowl well, but the fielding was very sharp as well. It was not a bad inning for England Under-19, especially on this tough pitch, but if they could have added more 30-40 runs to the 210 scoreline, skipper Thomas Rew would have been even more satisfied.

Zahoor puts in a full-length dive, extends his left arm, and plucks it into his gloves just above the ground. England Under-19 have been bowled out for 210.
