MUMBAI: Mumbai's pre-season problems simply refuse to end. A day after this paper reported that Mumbai's Under-16 coach, former opener

Vinayak Mane

has put in his papers, TOI has learnt that ex-India seamer Balwinder Singh Sandhu has quit the

Mumbai Cricket Association

's Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC).

"I'm quitting due to personal reasons," said Sandhu, a member of India's 1983 World Cup-winning squad. Earlier this month, the CIC had picked Vinayak Samant and Wilkin Mota as the Mumbai senior and Under-19 coaches. The other members of the CIC are former India skipper Ajit Wadekar, Karsan Ghavri, Amol Muzumdar, Sahil Kukreja and Kiran Mokashi.

Meanwhile, the MCA on Thursday named 26 probables for its off-season fitness camp for the senior team, which will be overseen by the new coach, physio and trainer. These probables were picked by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee on June 11, but the camp was delayed as the MCA didn't have a trainer and physio, who were hired on Thursday, in place.

As expected, veteran Abhishek Nayar, who's now the chief coach at the KKR camp, has been excluded from the list.
