The third season of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) gets underway on January 9, 2026, and with it arrives the league’s biggest statement yet. Bigger trials, a wider national footprint, richer rewards and a sharper competitive edge — Season 3 is designed as both a spectacle and a serious pathway for India’s vast pool of street-cricket talent.
Running until February 6 at Surat’s Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, the season brings together eight franchises for 44 high-octane tennis-ball T10 matches, underlining ISPL’s rapid rise as a mainstream sporting property rather than a novelty experiment.
From streets to big screensLaunched in 2024, ISPL was conceived to solve a familiar Indian cricket problem: raw talent everywhere, opportunity almost nowhere. The league offers a structured, televised platform for tennis-ball cricketers who have long thrived in gullies, maidans and local tournaments, but lacked visibility and progression routes.
That grassroots-first vision continues to define ISPL’s identity. Season 3 saw nationwide trials across 101 cities — nearly double last season’s reach — attracting a staggering 4.4 million registrations. From these, 408 players made the auction pool, with 144 eventually earning contracts across the eight teams.

ISPL’s credibility has been strengthened by a high-profile and cricket-savvy leadership group.
The Core Committee includes Sachin Tendulkar, Ashish Shelar and Minal Amol Kale, with Suraj Samat serving as League Commissioner. Former India cricketers Jatin Paranjpe and Pravin Amre head the selection committee, while Dipak Chauhan oversees league operations.
The mix of administrative heft and cricketing insight has helped ISPL evolve quickly from concept to a scalable sporting ecosystem.
