ICC Women's Rankings: England's Nat Sciver-Brunt dethrones Smriti Mandhana as top-ranked batter in WODIs

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings, overtaking India’s Smriti Mandhana following a strong performance in the recently concluded three-match ODI series between the two sides. Although India secured the series 2-1, it was Sciver-Brunt’s consistent showing with the bat that earned her a climb back to the top. The 32-year-old scored 160 runs across the series, including a fluent 98 in the final ODI at Chester-le-Street, and now tops the charts with 731 rating points. Mandhana, who had briefly held the No. 1 ranking, dropped to second with 728 points despite scoring 115 runs in the series. While Mandhana’s slip was a minor setback, India had reason to cheer as skipper Harmanpreet Kaur made a notable jump in the rankings. The right-hander moved up ten spots to 11th place after contributing valuable runs in the middle order. Teammate Jemimah Rodrigues also gained ground, climbing from 15th to 13th. Among the bowlers, India’s Deepti Sharma retained her fourth position in the ODI bowling rankings. The list continues to be led by England’s Sophie Ecclestone, followed by Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Megan Schutt. Elsewhere, Ireland’s Orla Prendergast enjoyed a breakout performance in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, which earned her recognition across all departments. After scoring an unbeaten 67 in the second ODI, she jumped 12 places to joint 22nd in the batting rankings. She also climbed 10 spots to 33rd among bowlers and broke into the top 10 in the all-rounders’ list for the first time, now sitting at No. 10. Ireland’s Arlene Kelly also rose four spots to 30th in the bowling charts, while Gaby Lewis improved her T20I ranking, now 14th among batters after back-to-back fifties against Zimbabwe.
