Diana Puketapu-Lyndon becomes first female chair of New Zealand Cricket

NEW DELHI: In a historic milestone for New Zealand Cricket (NZC), Diana Puketapu-Lyndon is set to become the first female chair of the organisation. This groundbreaking transition was made possible after the incumbent chair, Martin Snedden, announced his early departure to facilitate a smooth transition for Puketapu-Lyndon.
Diana Puketapu-Lyndon, who currently holds the position of deputy chair at NZC, has an impressive track record.She also serves as the chair of the New Zealand Olympic Committee and has previously worked as the chief financial officer on two America's Cup campaigns. Her appointment marks a significant step forward for gender diversity and inclusivity in the world of cricket administration.
Martin Snedden, who still has a year left as a director on the NZC board, made the announcement of his early departure at the annual general meeting of the governing body. Additionally, Snedden revealed that he would be succeeded as New Zealand's representative on the International Cricket Council (ICC) by board member Roger Twose.

The NZC annual general meeting also reported a surplus of NZ$10.7 million ($6.35 million) at the conclusion of the last financial year, indicating the financial health of the organisation.
