The Union Cabinet led by PM Modi on September 18 approved the 'one nation, one election' panel report led by former President Ram Nath Kovind that recommended simultaneous polls for the Lok Sabha, state assemblies and local bodies in a phased manner after a countrywide consensus-building exercise.
